KALPULLI AYOLOPAKTZIN

Kalpulli Ayolopaktzin is a group of families & kinships preserving the ancestral ways of Anahuac traditions through  Danza, healing and community.

We honor our covenant with the various ancestral people of occupied Somi Se’k territory, currently known as the state of Texas. As inter-tribal guests  on these territories, we come together as a group of families; femme, queer, men folk, and children working together to re-tribalize our community by undoing the harm caused by colonization through education, social justice, and the folklife arts. We share our heritage as initiated members of the Mexica-Chichimeca danza tradition by engaging with our community in healing, song, and dance. We collaborate with individuals, community groups, and organizations that align with our vision to uplift the continued existence & resilience of Indigenous people & descendants on our continent. We are a group of families, women, men and children working together to decolonize, empower and heal our hearts, minds and souls. We support social and indigenous justice issues and strive to collaborate with organizations that work in these realms.  We share our heritage with the community by way of community blessings honoring ancestral ways of song and dance.   We also have ongoing projects and events that are aligned with our visions to empower ourselves as Indigenous peoples of this continent and reclaim our sacred spaces.

Kalpulli Ayolopaktzin is a group of 20 intertribal families that are reclaiming, reconnecting and maintaining their personal land and ceremonial ties while creating a spiritual and cultural system of kinship through the Kalpulli structure. The Kalpulli structure serves as a space to learn, practice and synthesize the shared knowledge that allowed our ancestors to create thriving communities grounded in a shared belief system that is grounded in our mutual respect and veneration to the sciences, mathematics, artistry, philosophy and spirituality of interconnectedness and responsibility to excellence in our respective tribal lineages and love for Mother Earth.
